Hot Head…..Brilliant Chef

As we all know Gordon Ramsay is one of the most well known chefs around the world and that’s not only for his cooking abilities. The foul mouthed Scotsman has earned the reputation of a hot head and someone who doesn’t take any……trouble. Not only has he got his own programme called Gordon Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares  in the UK but he’s also got the same TV show over in USA slagging them off just as much as he does here. What I want to know is does he sometimes take it a bit to far?

A lot of people that appear on his shows get a bit tight and some can take it on the chin but there are a lot that have snapped and hes made them break down to tears, does it help them or is it really just bullying?

On the other side some of his recipes are absolutely fantastic I’ve actually bought a couple of his cook books myself and have spent many a Saturday afternoons learning new dishes to impress my guests with and one in particular is the chilli beef fry which is probably one of the best dishes I have ever tasted! If your not much of a cook yourself you could even visit one of his many restaurants with a few based in London. It may be pricey but I guarantee you wouldn’t get the same taste anywhere else.

Okay I’m not talking about an ordinary sandwich, but sometimes it feels unfair to lump some the most wonderful culinary delights there are to be had in the world in with a very plain egg & cress do from a local fast-food place.

No I don’t mean plain sandwiches, I mean those sandwiches that are the piéce de la résistance [or however it is spelt] such as the massive Shooter’s Sandwich, as brought to us in this weeks Guardian.

shooter's Sandwich

Now I would much rather try to tackle one of these, than the usual fair of Quavers & margarine that I lazily go for, one is simple, the other is very nearly a meal in itself.

Although invented by a posh englishman, it is strange how almost all the best sandwiches are from the continent, ponder this the next time you have a filled baguette.
